Question: Describe your hometown
You should say:
Where it is?
What you can see and do there?
How it has changed since you was a child?
And explain whether you love it or not

Answer:

Sapa, my hometown, is nestled in the northern part of Vietnam, in the Lao Cai province. It’s a place of immense natural beauty and cultural diversity.

In Sapa, you can witness some of the most stunning landscapes, including terraced rice fields that stretch as far as the eye can see, lush forests, and the towering Hoang Liên Son mountain range, which houses Fansipan, the highest peak in Indochina. The region is also home to a rich tapestry of ethnic communities, such as the Hmong, Dao, and Tay, each with their unique traditions and vibrant markets.

Since my childhood, Sapa has transformed significantly. The most notable change is the surge in tourism. It has become a globally recognized destination, attracting visitors from all over the world. While this has led to improvements in the town’s infrastructure and services, it has also brought commercialization and an increase in visitor numbers, which has affected the town’s original charm.

Despite the changes, I still love Sapa deeply. It’s a place where I have cherished memories and strong connections. The natural beauty and cultural richness of Sapa are unparalleled, and I appreciate the opportunities it has offered me in terms of personal growth and a deeper understanding of the world. While it may not be the same as when I was a child, Sapa remains a place close to my heart.

  • tapestry (n): tấm thảm
  • notable (adj): đáng chú ý
